Kamuzu College of Nursing is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Faculty member to fill a vacant position of Deputy Research Director. This is a newly established post and the incumbent is required to understudy the Research Director in the operations of the research centre.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing Research Centre strategic, annual and budget plans
- Coordinating research activities with stakeholders in liaison with the Research Director
- Building networks and working partnerships with donors, research institutions, Professional bodies and Government institutions
- Facilitating research initiatives
- Establishing teams for promotion of research agenda at College level
- Developing research tools in liaison with stakeholders
- Preparing project contracts in consultation with Principal Investigators of projects
- Producing periodic reports on the activities of research for submission to relevant bodies
- Advising the Research Director of nursing and related research areas
- Building partnerships between KCN and the international community, industry, government, professional bodies and the wider community
- Interpreting UNIMA research policy into programs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- PhD in Nursing, Midwifery or related field
- At least three years’ work experience at lecturer position
- Evidence of research and publication experience

- Demonstrated leadership and team building skills
- Demonstrated ability to review documents, literature and proposals
